Hyde Canyon is a unique 65 home development located within the Agricultural Land Reserve in a secluded area of Langley, BC. With no possibility of connecting to the municipal sewer, the developer contracted ECOfluid to Design and Build a decentralized wastewater treatment system. Ground was broken for construction in October 2014, and the facility was completed in May 2015.
Because of the projects proximity to the highly sensitive Hopington Aquifer, a tertiary level of treatment was mandated. The wastewater from the homes is treated by the USBF® Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) process, which is followed by polishing sand filters and UV disinfection, before being discharged to ground.
